Dinner...

My wife wasn't feeling well last weekend. So I was tasked to cook food. She told me to stop cooking eggs every meal. Thus, I was forced to open a can of Tuna Loaf...

I did the exact same thing to my wife a week ago. Having only 2 hours of sleep does crazy things to a person...

This happens very often... potato chips, I abhor thee!

Moral of the story: I should not be doing the grocery shopping.

A baby / dad / baby poop strip! The first of many...

Moral of the story: Babies are awesome. They are an awesome gift from God. Having your own baby is even more awesome. Everything they do is awesome.

Cloud Comics

That is what I'mma calling these things...

Yes, sir! Staring outside the window & drawing some funky cloud formations is very de-stressing.

Advance Happy New Earth!

This made my day. If I wasn't running late earlier, I would've bought this from the old man. Looking forward to the new Earth!

Gave this to my wife as my 1st year wedding anniversary card...

This was supposed to be an 8-page mini-comic, a continuation (of sorts) of a strip I made for ???#2. Sadly, I was only able to finish 1 page. The words are the lyrics of a Weezer song, which I was thinking of singing on our wedding day... but I chickened out.

Lost...

Nah, it wasn't the actual John Locke (my favorite Lost character) / Terry O' Quinn. But the guy looked exactly like him, eye color, smile & everything.

The Window

Stared at the window the entire day. Hoping that my wife will not deliver the baby during the floods...

Monday, August 13, 2012

Going home after office, before the floods came. If you have money, clothes, food, time, etc. to spare... please help the victims of the flood!

I have a new cubicle in the office & its near the window. The view is fantastic! I can enjoy looking at the calming waters of Manila Bay minus the stink. I can also see the smog over Makati...

Mind Control

Couple of years ago, when we were still mulling over the idea of creating the QBCCC & trying to find contributors. Josel emailed me a comic from a guy named Powil. I immediately fell in love with his art. We wanted him for the anthology, but alas the guy was incommunicado. It wasn't until Volume 2 that we were able to put out his first published comic story.

It was around early last year when we met Powil. Josel invited him to our first QBCCC Vol.2 meeting. Very mild-mannered, soft-spoken guy & very much excited about comics. He grew up here in the Philippines but got conscripted into the Taiwanese military. He showed us his pages for Mind Control, we were blown away. We offered to publish, he agreed. So here it is in its entirety! The first full-length comic published under the QBCCC banner (printed copies were sold at BLTX some weeks ago)! Powil Guzmanos' MIND CONTROL!

Adam David's Foreword

P.S. - You will be seeing more comics from Powil soon. Stay tuned :)

UPDATE! The Mind Control page is currently undergoing maintenance...
UPUPDATE! Maintenance finished! Now, READ!

It has been too darn cold in the office for the past week… I opened up my locker & broke out my Arctic gear!
  • Sennheiser headphones which double as ear muffs (functional fashion).
  • a very long (8 feet or so) knitted scarf which my wife bought from a thrift store.
  • a brown / green / orange plaid jacket, heavily insulated. bought also from a thrift store.
  • black knitted gloves, a gift from my wife.
  • brown beanie with white stripes which I borrowed from my niece & did not return.
  • unshaven face for extra insulation (not shown)

Toasty! My office mates, they envy me.

Needed to get some blood flowing thru my hands since they're all shriveled up & numb because of the cold. So I drew this...

Please ignore the badly drawn hands…

Request-A-Strip #4

Theme: "Attack Bear"

I thought the theme was easy enough to do when Josel said it, but I had a really hard time coming up with an interesting 4-panel strip. Feels like I botched this one in some way. Anyhooo, I would like to do more strips about this guy soon.

Josel's strip #3 & #4.

Request-A-Strip #3

This one is about... "Infinite Monkey Theorem"

I love drawing monkeys & hairy people!

Disclaimer: To all Alan Moore lovers. I, too love Mr. Moore. This strip is a joke. Please don't start hexing me or do some voodoo thing on me. Thank you!

Reques-A-Strip #2

This will now be an ongoing project thingy between me & Josel. Where we ask each other to make a comic strip of whatever we can think of. The theme for this one is "The First Robot to..." (See the binary code in the separate word baloon in the last panel? Input that in an ASCII converter)"

Requested strips from Josel...
  1. 2 Talking Livers
  2. A Disgruntled Crayon Color Working as a Fishball Vendor (my favorite so far)
If we do enough of these things we'll compile them & release them at BLTX2 :)

Request-A-Strip #1

For Josel Nicolas!

If you want your own dumb strip leave a comment :)

P.S. - I ♥ Steve Ditko & Dr. Strange!
